kids playing with a statue of mahatma gandhi in india

sabarmati ashram | gujarat, india | 2012

these kids took the title “father of the nation” a bit too seriously and were playing with a statue of mahatma gandhi at the sabarmati ashram in gujarat. it started off with the brother and sister running around the statue trying to catch each other and then both getting tired and sitting in either lap. soon enough they were called and reprimanded by their mom who was sitting a little away for disrespectful behavior.
was it disrespectful, or was it just plain innocent fun? are these moments where we take away a few ounces of pure innocence from their hearts? from whatever i have read about mahatma gandhi i’m sure he wouldn’t mind it :)
